The Steve Nicol Bursary Fund
Steve Nicol (OA 1987) is fondly remembered by many OAs, DSG Old Girls and other members of our community for his passion, and love of, our family of schools. DSG Old Girls and Old Andreans who knew Steve, have started a bursary in Steve’s name, with the objective of allowing well-deserving learners, whose families cannot afford or continue to afford to send their children to our schools, an opportunity of an outstanding educational experience.
How fitting it is that a bursary fund has been established in his name and memory, which would permit other young men and women to enjoy the College and DSG experience; to give them the experience that Steve treasured so dearly.
The Steve Nicol Bursary Fund’s main mandate is to assist families in need.
College and DSG currently support approximately 30% and 15% of boys and girls, respectively, in one way or another – whether it be through a scholarship, a bursary or financial aid. These funds are derived from income from endowed funds specifically for the purpose of supporting scholarships and bursaries, and from individuals who choose to give back to our schools by supporting learners in need. However, the need is far greater than the available funding and we are so grateful for additional bursary support.
