The annual East London Old Andrean Golf Day, held on Friday 29 May 2026, was another resounding success, bringing together Old Andreans, parents, friends of College and members of the wider Andrean community for a memorable day of camaraderie and competition.
A special word of thanks goes to Russell Bennett (Upper, 1990), Chairman of the East London OA Branch, whose exceptional organisation and leadership once again ensured a first-class event. We are also deeply grateful to the many East London Old Andreans who assisted with the planning and execution of the day, as well as the ladies and volunteers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make the event such a success.

We were honoured to welcome Old Andrean Adi Birrell (Graham, 1979) as our special guest. Adi joined participants throughout the day and shared inspiring reflections during the prize-giving, drawing on his extensive experience in leadership and sport. His contribution added a special dimension to an already outstanding occasion.
While the Golf Day continues to serve as a valued annual gathering for the Andrean family, it has also grown into a significant fundraising initiative. Through the generosity of participants, sponsors and supporters, more than R180,000 was raised this year! These proceeds will be donated to St Andrew’s College and directed towards projects that will benefit current and future generations of Andreans.
We are immensely grateful to everyone who contributed to the success of the event. The commitment, enthusiasm and generosity of the East London community continue to make a meaningful difference to College, and we thank all involved for their support.
